NEWS our monthly newsletter
DECEMBER 2004

Well we did promise you something bright to cheer everyone up for Christmas ...
How about these Sydney curved sofa groups we built last month for a provincial Hi-Tech client ?

...and the same client also had our Bite stools for the staff to sit on when enjoying their breaks at the company playstations.

Looking back over the last few months' newsletters, it occurs to me that we tend to show predominantly examples of our Bespoke work. This may be because the "specials" seem to demonstrate far more variety but please do not forget that the main part of our business is our own DH Collection.

So it is nice to show you some of our Collection products, albeit sometimes "tweaked" a little bit for a particular client.

Here is a splendid example of a small change making a big difference to our Reflection armchair. It is upholstered in blue leather and fitted with solid polished aluminium legs. Feel free to use your imagination !

Davison Highley's 2004 new entry level sofa and chair design Brescia has been received very well and has started to sell very quickly for a new design.
We showed it at Spectrum upholstered in white Bute Jura and in the same fabric in our initial literature .
As a contrast, here it is in a black leather from Elmo and also in a black wool fabric.

...and for Christmas here is a little bit of history ...

We were reading a 1906 edition of the Cabinet Maker, (Oh yes we keep up with all the latest news at DH) and we found an engraving of the Old North Works here at Piddington. Except for the fact that we lost the big chimney about 15 years ago, it appears to have been very much the same in general layout 100 years ago as it is to this day.

I have coloured-in the area that DH currently occupies and those of you who have visited us will recognise the horse and cart in which we collected you from the station !

All of us at Davison Highley would like to thank you for your support during the year
and we wish you a Happy and Peaceful Christmas break, as well as a successful and fulfilling 2005.

Barry Davison
